Do you know how many "walk to lose weight" programs are out there? When I first started I was aware that walking was one of the easiest ways to get toned and lose a few pounds. I just didn't know how many sites there were about this subject or how many different variations of it there were. I've tried a few but I find it difficult to keep going when the weather gets too hot or too cold which means there are about 26 weeks when I don't walk regularly outside.

Yeah I know outside is not the only place to walk but everything else just is boring. I've got a perfect indoor track in my building including several sets of stairs for the uncomfortable days but takes planning and I seldom plan anything. No plan ever stays the same after first encounter, it just doesn't so planning in depth is a waste of time IMO. Make sure there is someplace to sleep & somewhere to eat on your route and then go. That's about the extent of the planning I do.

Unfortunately for me my daughter and the professor are both "plan it to death" people so I find myself doing it too. I struggle against them but they are two to my one so eventually, I just go with the flow and pick up the pieces afterwards. That puts me in a bit of a bind when I need to plan something like regular exercise so usually, I do it 5-10 times then stop or I'll do it a couple of times in a week then take a week off because my body is complaining.

I am not very good at making friends or keeping them it seems. I do not go outside much, in fact I hardly leave my home unless it is family related. That makes it hard especially since friends expect you to come to them at least once in a while and I find I can't. If it were simply a matter of laziness it would be understandable but it isn't. My Fair Lady

Eliza Doolittle Day is celebrated by fans of the musical  My Fair Lady , a musical based off of George Bernard Shaw's 1912 play  Pygmalion . Women's Heart Health

February 1st - 7th is Women's Heart Health Awareness Week and I felt it would be remiss of me not to include some conversation about it here given that the professor suffered a heart attack a bit over two years ago and that I am a prime candidate. Let us start with why I am a prime candidate - Obviously being 100 pounds overweight puts me in the high-risk area immediately. Add in High Chloresterol, physical inactivity, diabetes, post-menopausal and over 55. Since only two of those are needed to put me in the at-risk category that I have six means that I am very high risk. The only way it could be worse is if I still smoked or drank and still lived a high-stress life. Thank goodness for small miracles. Not sure where you stand? check out this checklist .
